Rebecca Soul is a French-Canadian and Spanish vocalist currently studying at Berklee College of Music under a full scholarship. She channels genres ranging from jazz and R&B to pop, fusing them into her own singular sound. In 2018, she caught the attention of the legendary five-time Grammy winner, Lalah Hathaway, by transcribing her scat solo from "Something," a 2013 collaboration with Snarky Puppy. This recognition marked the beginning of her exciting journey. In the words of renowned saxophone player Jacques Schwartz-Bart, "she is outstanding."

 

In 2019, Rebecca participated in a cover of Roger Waters' "Amused to Death," a project that garnered 5.5 million views on YouTube. In 2020, she was selected by Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Kurt Elling for his exclusive master class. Rebecca reach the finals of the international pop singing competition, “Flair XL,” in 2021, and she won the Canadian singing competition “Trois Pistoles en Chanson”. In 2022, she shared the stage with Chuck Rainey and Lalah Hathaway. Along her musical path, she had the privilege of studying under acclaimed jazz vocalists like Aubrey Logan, Camille Bertault, and Stephanie Nakasian. 

 

Rebecca's commitment to her craft goes beyond the stage. She did her preparatory studies in Violin Performance at the Montreal Conservatory of Music and earned her artist diploma at Lionel Groulx College in Voice Performance in 2020. At Berklee College of Music, where she received the prestigious Alex Ulanowski award in 2022 for her “outstanding academic performance” in the Jazz Composition department. Rebecca's dedication to vocal development also led her to complete Levels 1 and 2 of the Estill Voice Training program in 2020, which is a world-renowned system for vocal development. In addition to that, she reached another level of certification in her Estill Training journey, since she passed her certification EFP exam.

Currently, Rebecca is working as the new president of the Award-winning acapella group “Pitch Slapped”, which has appeared on shows such as NBC’s The Sing Off and America’s Got Talent and collaborated with artists such as Charlie Puth and Pentatonix. She was just announced as the recipient of a scholarship from the Music Business Association for her work in the industry. She is also gearing up for her debut EP, set to release in 2025.
